The prime location of Fisherman’s Camp is on the doorstep of Kenya’s most diverse and beautiful national parks. These parks, listed below, may be visited on organised day trips or can be explored in depth either through a walking safari*, vehicle or camping trip.
Hell’s Gate National Park
The dramatic landscape of Hell’s Gate is within very close proximity to the camp and offers a wonderful opportunity to see game on foot, mountain bike or in a vehicle. The variety of game most commonly seen within the park includes giraffe, zebra, buffalo and Thompson’s gazelle, however you may have the chance of the occasional spotting of Leopard a nd cheetah. From Elsa gate 5km from Fisherman’s, you may travel a circuit through Hells Gate gorge with its sheer cliffs and the volcanic pinnacles of Fischer’s and central tower. Narrow canyons cut into the rock further ahead offer the opportunity of a very scenic walk. You can see the geothermal steam jets as you complete the circuit to Ol Karia gate and back to Fisherman’s Camp.

Crater Lake Game Sanctuary
Crater Lake Game Sanctuary is a beautiful location boasting a dazzling green soda lake, set like a jewel within a volcanic crater. A haven for flamingos and game including giraffe, zebra, waterbuck and eland, it is possible to walk through the sanctuary at close proximity to the wildlife. A walk around the crater rim offers stunning views of Lake Naivasha and surrounding mountains. If you prefer to relax, there is a bar and restaurant at the lake shore within the atmospheric crater.
You can reach Crater Lake by continuing down South Lake Road from Fisherman’s Camp until you get to Kongoni. From here it is 5km further on a road running away from the lake
