Mountain biking Bikes can be hired at Fisherman’s Camp for 500 ksh per day. From here you can set off for a great days’ adventure, cycling through the rugged terrain of Hell’s Gate. The main entrance to the park at Elsa Gate is 10-15 minutes bike ride from Fisherman’s Camp. Tracks will lead you through the dramatic setting of Hell’s Gate gorge, travelling a circuit of the park until you reach Ol Karia gate. There is plenty of game and stunning scenery to view on the way and a number of ideal spots for a picnic. From Ol Karia gate you pass the dramatic landscape at the geothermal plant on the road back to the Camp.

Horse riding Within the surrounding area amongst the foothills of Mount Longonot you have the opportunity of a horse-riding safari. Leaving from Longonot Ranch, being on horseback enables you to get up close to game, allowing you to mingle with the wildlife in a way not possible by vehicle. |
Rock climbing The dramatic cliffs of Hell’s Gate also offer great climbing opportunities for beginners and those with experience alike. Local fully qualified instructors can organise a days climbing for you from Fisherman’s Camp. A popular challenge is to tackle Fischer’s tower, a 100ft volcanic pinnacle with a breathtaking view from the summit. |
